The Life of a Heart

“The Life of a Heart,” quadriptych in steel and barbed wire mounted on wood, USA, 1997. SOLD. Art, Mixed Media

The heart definitely captivates my imagination. And so began a life’s work (and slight obsession) where I continue to interpret the heart — physically and symbolically — in my poetry and images. This piece is part of a series, “The Life of the Heart”, with four metal sculptures at various “stages” of the life of a heart, from whole to cracked — to broken and finally, mended but wrapped in barbed wire.
